ABOUT CARDINAL NEWMAN

Cardinal Newman High School is a Catholic secondary school located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Santa Rosa, California. Founded on April 24, 1964, Cardinal Newman High School provides a Catholic secondary education to young women and men who are educated in the wholeness of mind, body, and spirit through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Students are prepared for the rigors of university life. They are taught to contribute to the greater community and to lead lives that remain true to the visions of the school’s patrons, St. Angela Merici and Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman.

ACADEMICS

Classes at CNHS are designed to challenge and teach students to become life-long learners. Our teachers and counselors are 100% committed to student success in high school and beyond, with the belief that high school is a stepping stone to higher education.

FAITH AND SERVICE

CNHS embraces students of all religious backgrounds, while striving to inspire and develop them to act as Christian gentlemen and women by giving back to their community and serving as leaders and role models to others.
As our students excel in academics, athletics, arts and many other extra-curricular activities, our focus is that every student would have an authentic experience of Christ’s presence in the midst of all they are involved in here at CNHS.
Whether it be through religion classes, a retreat experience, community service, celebration of prayer and liturgy, or the senior CBSL (Community-Based Service Learning) project, our faith and service component will continue to point students, faculty and parents alike to the presence of God in our midst.

SHOW YOUR CN SPIRIT

CNHS athletic events are important to our students, parents and community, as over 80% of our students play at least one sport, many playing two seasons, some even three. We expect sports teams and competitions to teach lessons that apply to both the classroom and life beyond classroom walls. Our sponsorship, along with the North Bay League and North Coast Section, promotes sportsmanship and the CIF goal of "Victory with Honor".
